Saint Augustine Parish Pastoral Plan
Worship
Goal: Deepen the faith of our parishioners through engaging celebrations of the Liturgy that will foster a strong
sense of community.
Objectives:
- Establish a ‘contemporary’ music ministry comprised of teens & young adults to minister at our Liturgies on a
monthly/regular basis.
- Provide opportunities and encouragement for all Liturgical Ministers to participate in continuing formation.
- Increase participation in and at Mass.
- Actively recruit parishioners to liturgical ministries.

Evangelization
Goal: Welcome and unite all through our hospitality and Christian outreach.
Objectives:
- Form a lay evangelization team by April, 2009.
This team will be responsible for:
- Investigating and implementing evangelization programs targeted for inactive Catholics.
- Providing opportunities for parishioners to discuss and reflect on their faith and relationship with God.
- Develop a program to welcome newcomers into parish life.

Teaching
Goal: Invite parishioners to grow in holiness through understanding the spiritual treasury of the Catholic faith.
Objectives:
- Establish an Adult Faith Formation program.
- Hire a youth minister for middle school and high school students to develop a program to integrate liturgy and service.

Stewardship
Goal: Strengthen parish commitment to responsible Christian Stewardship.
Objectives:
- Establish parish understanding of prayer as the foundation of Christian Stewardship.
- Develop a three year strategic plan for use of the parish buildings.
- Form of a committee to research and identify effective stewardship programs.
- Empower parishioners to share their gifts of time, talent and treasure.
